TitanMC has eight upgradeable custom tools. Five come from the original TitanMC: the Smelter, Block, Explosive and Bountiful pickaxes and the Lumberjack Axe. Three were made for the remake: the Midas Pickaxe, the Titan Pickaxe and the Titan Ice Pick. This page covers what every tool does at each tier, how they level up, and what each upgrade costs.
Tiers
Most custom pickaxes have three tiers: Base, Classic and Mastered. Every tool starts at Base, the weakest version. Upgrading to Classic and then Mastered makes its ability stronger and usually raises the Minecraft XP it gives. The Smelter is the only tool with a different name for its middle tier. It goes Base, Refined, then Mastered.
Any custom pickaxe you get from Crates, the Battle Pass or the Titan Store comes as the Base version. Upgrading it from there is up to you.
The Titan Ice Pick and the Lumberjack Axe only have one version and cannot be upgraded.
Tool XP and Minecraft XP
Your pickaxe has its own XP, called Tool XP, which is separate from the normal green Minecraft XP you collect. Tool XP raises your pickaxe’s level, and you need certain levels before you can upgrade it.
Only the block you mine directly gives Tool XP. Any extra blocks broken by an area ability, like the Explosive blast or the Titan’s explosion, give no Tool XP and no Minecraft XP. Those extra blocks also don’t count towards the Battle Pass or /blocks yet.
Each tool also changes how much Minecraft XP you get from mining. A tool with 3.0x Minecraft XP gives you three times the XP that block would normally give. A tool with 0.6x gives you a bit more than half.
When you upgrade a tool, it keeps all its Tool XP and its level.
Upgrading
Hold the tool you want to upgrade and type /pickaxe upgrade. You need the tool level and the money for the next tier. There are no Prestige, Rebirth or quest requirements.
- Smelter: Refined at Level 20 + $20m, then Mastered at Level 50 + $150m
- Block: Classic at Level 20 + $50m, then Mastered at Level 50 + $300m
- Explosive: Classic at Level 20 + $60m, then Mastered at Level 50 + $500m
- Bountiful: Classic at Level 20 + $80m, then Mastered at Level 50 + $1.5b
- Titan: Classic at Level 20 + $250m, then Mastered at Level 50 + $500m
- Midas: Classic at $500m, then Mastered at $1b
Midas has its own upgrade system. It has no level requirement, so you only need the money.
Smelter Pickaxe
The Smelter is from the original TitanMC. Everything it mines comes out already smelted, so Iron Ore drops Iron Ingots instead of raw ore. Higher tiers also smelt ores into something more valuable than they normally give.
The Smelter is the best pickaxe on the server for Minecraft XP. When the Smelter procs on an ore, that ore drops XP, even ores that normally give none, like Iron and Gold.
Base Smelter
- Iron Ore drops Iron Ingots
- Gold Ore drops Gold Ingots
- Stone and Cobblestone drop Stone
- 3.0x Minecraft XP
Refined Smelter
Refined pushes every important ore up one tier.
- Iron Ore drops Gold Ingots
- Gold Ore drops Diamonds
- Diamond Ore drops Emeralds
- Emerald Ore drops its normal Emerald
- 5.0x Minecraft XP
Mastered Smelter
Mastered works the same as Refined, but Emerald Ore drops 2 Emeralds instead of 1.
- Iron Ore drops Gold Ingots
- Gold Ore drops Diamonds
- Diamond Ore drops Emeralds
- Emerald Ore drops 2 Emeralds
- 7.0x Minecraft XP
Block Pickaxe
The Block Pickaxe is from the original TitanMC. It turns ores straight into their block form. Mining Diamond Ore gives you a Diamond Block instead of Diamonds, which saves you from crafting them yourself.
Base Block
- 60% chance to turn the ore into its block
- If it doesn’t proc, the ore drops normally
- Fortune does not work
- 1.0x Minecraft XP
Classic Block
- Every ore turns into its block (100% chance)
- Fortune works up to Fortune III
- 1.0x Minecraft XP
Mastered Block
Every ore still converts, but the important ores also jump one block tier higher:
- Coal Ore drops an Iron Block
- Iron Ore drops a Gold Block
- Gold Ore drops a Diamond Block
- Diamond Ore drops an Emerald Block
- Emerald Ore drops 2 Emerald Blocks, before Fortune is added
- Fortune works up to Fortune III
- 1.0x Minecraft XP
Explosive Pickaxe
The Explosive Pickaxe is from the original TitanMC. Every block you mine sets off a blast that breaks the blocks around it. Only the block you hit gives Tool XP and Minecraft XP. The blast blocks still drop their items.
Base Explosive
- Breaks about 80 to 90% of a 3x3x2 area around the block you mine
- 0.6x Minecraft XP, from the block you mine directly
Classic Explosive
- Breaks about 80 to 90% of a 3x3x3 area
- The blast goes forward into the face you’re mining. If you mine into a wall, it digs a tunnel into the wall instead of breaking the blocks behind you.
- 1.0x Minecraft XP
Mastered Explosive
- Breaks every block (100%) in the same forward 3x3x3 area, so nothing is left behind
- 1.0x Minecraft XP
Mastered also has a Bonus Explosion. Each time you mine, it has a 40% chance to trigger, with a 2.5 second cooldown between triggers. The Bonus Explosion covers a 5x5x5 area and breaks about 90 to 100% of it, up to 124 extra blocks. When it triggers, it replaces the normal 3x3x3 blast for that hit.
Bountiful Pickaxe
The Bountiful Pickaxe is from the original TitanMC. Every time you mine a block, it checks the blocks around it. If there’s a more valuable ore nearby, your drop becomes that ore’s drop instead.
It checks a 3x3x3 area around the block you mine, diagonals included. It picks the best resource it finds in this order:
Emerald > Diamond > Gold > Iron > Lapis > Redstone > Coal
The nearby ore is only checked, not used up. It stays where it is and you can still mine it afterwards.
Bountiful never makes your drop worse. If you mine Gold Ore next to Diamond Ore, you get Diamonds. If you mine Diamond Ore next to Gold Ore, you still get Diamonds.
Base Bountiful
- Only checks for ores
- Fortune does not work
- 0.75x Minecraft XP
Classic Bountiful
- Only checks for ores
- Fortune works up to Fortune III
- 1.0x Minecraft XP
Mastered Bountiful
Mastered also checks for resource blocks: Emerald Blocks, Diamond Blocks, Gold Blocks and Iron Blocks.
- If the best thing nearby is a resource block, you get 1 of that block. Fortune does not add to it.
- If the best thing nearby is an ore, Fortune still works up to Fortune III.
- 1.0x Minecraft XP
Midas Pickaxe
The Midas Pickaxe is new for the remake and wasn’t in the original TitanMC. It’s based on the Midas touch: everything you mine in a mine turns into gold. The higher the tier, the more of it turns into Gold Blocks instead of Gold Ingots.
Midas doesn’t use Tool XP or levels. Upgrades only cost money (see Upgrading above).
Base Midas
- Every block drops Gold Ingots
- Fortune works up to Fortune III
- 2.0x Minecraft XP
Classic Midas
- Ores and resource blocks drop a Gold Block, with no Fortune. Diamond Ore, Emerald Ore, Diamond Blocks and Emerald Blocks all drop a Gold Block.
- Filler blocks like Stone still drop Gold Ingots, with Fortune up to Fortune III like Base
- 2.0x Minecraft XP
Mastered Midas
Everything drops Gold Blocks.
- Ores: Gold Block, no Fortune, 3.0x Minecraft XP
- Resource blocks: Gold Block, Fortune up to Fortune III, 2.0x Minecraft XP
- Filler: Gold Block, no Fortune, 2.0x Minecraft XP
A Midas Pickaxe with Silk Touch drops 1 Gold Ore instead of its normal gold. Fortune does not add to it.
Titan Pickaxe
The Titan Pickaxe is the endgame pickaxe, made for the remake. It combines the abilities of all four original pickaxes: Explosive, Bountiful, Smelter and Block. It gets stronger at each tier, but every dedicated pickaxe at Mastered is still better at its own job than the Titan is.
The Titan has its own Minecraft XP rate. The XP rates of the abilities inside it don’t stack on top of that. The Titan Pickaxe is unbreakable.
Base Titan
- Explosive: 3x3x2 area, breaks about 80 to 90%
- Bountiful: 89% chance, checks a 3x3x3 area, no Fortune
- No Smelter or Block yet
- 1.5x Minecraft XP
Classic Titan
- Explosive: forward 3x3x3 area, breaks about 90 to 100%
- Bountiful: 50% chance, Fortune I
- Smelter: Base Smelter
- Block: Base Block (60% chance)
- 2.0x Minecraft XP
Mastered Titan
- Explosive: forward 3x3x3 area, breaks 100%
- Bountiful: 15% chance, Fortune III
- Smelter: Refined Smelter
- Block: Classic Block (100% chance)
- 2.5x Minecraft XP
Ability Order
With four abilities, the Titan uses them in a set order:
- On an ore you mine directly, Block goes first. If Block converts it, that’s your drop and nothing else changes it.
- If Block doesn’t convert it (only possible on Classic, since Base Block is a 60% chance), Bountiful gets a chance, then Smelter.
- On filler blocks and blast blocks, Bountiful goes first, then Smelter. Block never applies to blast blocks.
Mastered Titan does not get Mastered Block’s one-tier-higher blocks, Mastered Bountiful’s resource block checking, or Mastered Smelter’s 2 Emeralds and 7.0x XP. Those stay exclusive to the dedicated pickaxes.
Titan Ice Pick
The Titan Ice Pick is new for the remake. It breaks blocks in two hits using a fracture. It only has one version and doesn’t use Base, Classic or Mastered.
When you hit a block the first time, it doesn’t break. Instead, a fracture spreads out from it in an uneven shape, and the reward for the whole fracture gets locked in. Hit the block a second time and the entire fracture shatters at once. If you don’t hit it again within 30 seconds, the fracture expires.
The fracture spreads inside a 5x5x5 area:
- Diamond Titan Ice Pick: up to 23 blocks per fracture
- Netherite Titan Ice Pick: up to 25 blocks per fracture
When the fracture forms, the Ice Pick checks every block in it for valuable ores, in this order: Emerald > Diamond > Gold > Iron. If it finds one, every block in the fracture drops that ore’s reward. For example, a single Diamond Ore inside the fracture makes every shattered block drop Diamonds. Fortune works up to Fortune III.
If there’s no valuable ore in the fracture, every block drops its normal item. Ice, Packed Ice and Blue Ice drop themselves.
The Titan Ice Pick gives 1.0x Minecraft XP, only from the first block you hit.
Lumberjack Axe
The Lumberjack Axe is from the original TitanMC. Chopping one log also chops the logs connected to it, so you can take down a whole group of logs in one swing. It only has one version, it’s unbreakable, and it gives no extra Minecraft XP.
- Breaks the log you hit plus up to 25 more connected logs
- Reaches up to 10 blocks away from the log you hit
- Diagonal logs count as connected
- Only follows the same wood type. Chopping Oak keeps going through connected Oak and won’t jump into Birch or Spruce.
In the wood mines, the Lumberjack chops the logs placed there, like log piles and the other wood mine builds, without needing leaves on them. It does not work on the cabins in the wood mines yet. Outside the wood mines, it works like a normal axe.
